Some might say second-generation grower, Maurice “Mo” DiBuduo, was destined to become a fresh and cannery grape farmer. Growing up on his family’s vineyard in Madera, CA, Mo started learning how to grow quality grapes from his father at a young age. He quickly learned the ropes on the farm and fell in love with the science behind growing the perfect crop.

Mo attended college at Fresno State University in California and upon graduating, taught for six years before returning to his true calling – being a grower. Mo moved back to Madera and started helping his father in the vineyard. Mo is now passing on the knowledge he learned from his father to his son, Mauro. They work closely together to farm in a sustainable manner – always looking for ways to reduce chemical inputs. They have recently switched to a non-chemical solution to control bugs in the vineyard. Their strong belief in sustainable farming will surely keep their vineyard viable for years to come.

Mo currently serves on the Board of Directors for Pacific Coast Producers. Mo’s company, DiBuduo Fruit Company, raises Thompson Seedless grapes for both the fresh market and for Pacific Coast Producers to use in fruit cocktail.
